What We Believe
At St. Andrew’s we are an evangelical Anglican church.
This means that we believe that God speaks in the Bible by His Spirit about His Son, Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect word in which God tells us all about His plan for the world from creation through to the glorious new creation He has promised. That story is great news, and it’s all about Jesus, God’s promised rescuing king, who died for our sins and rose again to be enthroned in heaven as Lord of all.
We are part of the Church of England, in the worldwide Anglican denomination, and we hold to the doctrine of Canon A5 which says: “The doctrine of the Church of England is grounded in the Holy Scriptures, and in such teachings of the ancient Fathers and Councils of the Church as are agreeable to the said Scriptures. In particular such doctrine is to be found in the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Ordinal.”
